OPTICA Foundation
Brand Guidelines

The OPTICA Foundation is a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization established in 2002. As the charitable arm of OPTICA (formerly the Optical Society of America), its core purpose is to cultivate the next generation of global leaders, researchers, and innovators in optics and photonics science.

The foundation supports students and early-career professionals through four core areas:
Prizes & Fellowships: Recognizing high-achieving researchers and engineers.
Scholarships & Grants: Providing global financial backing and professional development.
Career Accelerators: Hosting specialized workshops and networking events.
Endowments: Securing long-term financial support for official awards and honors.

The Challenge: C&Partners developed the OPTICA Foundation Brand Guidelines and Templates to ensure a consistent visual identity across all programs. The final deliverable was a comprehensive, 62-page Brand Guideline and Template package designed to empower the foundation's in-house design department.

My Role: As the senior designer on this project, my responsibilities included:

Editorial & Layout Updates: Revised an early draft of the Brand Guidelines. I wrote and integrated new copy for the Level 4 Opportunity, Social Post & Marquee Programs, Events, Program Anniversaries, and Special Campaigns sections.

Template Production: Prepared layout and final production files for all digital and print assets, including social, web, and print templates.
